Lymphoma
A cancer of the lymph nodes (beware of Lumps in the neck)

Lymphoma is a cancer that is growing due to changes of genetic (mutation) cell lymphocytes (white blood cells that are responsible for the body's natural defences). This mutation can strike border (lineage) of B cells, T cells, or NK cells.

Currently there are about 43 different types of lymphoma are categorized into: Hodgkin's lymphoma and Non-hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL). The classification is usually based on the type of cell that undergoes a mutation: B cell, T cell, natural killer cells or tumors. Who estimates about 1.5 million people in the world today live with NHL and 300 thousand people die of this disease each year. About 55 percent of the type of aggressive NHL and grew rapidly (example: Burkitt Lymphoma). The NHL is the third fastest growing cancer after skin cancer and the lungs. The NHL a lot happen in adults with the highest number in the age range 45-60 years. The more old age the higher risk of developing Lymphoma because of the resilience of the body decreases.

To know more about Lymphoma, we need more on the lymphatic system of the body.

The system of lymph vessels (lymphatic system) is the body's natural defense system against infections. The system works through the lymphatic fluid in the lymph vessels.

Lymphatic fluid is a milky white fluid containing proteins, fats and lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell). Lymphocytes consist of two types: B cells and T.

Weapons manufacturers like B cells in the body, producing proteins, called antibodies, which are intended to attack the enemy (the bacteria).

They examine the body's cells several times a day to see if there is a sick cells. If the cells were found sick or old cells, lymphocytes destroy it.

Organ organ associated with the manufacture and circulation of lymphocytes are: spleen (spleen), thymus gland, sum sum bones and tonsils (tonsils). Lymphoma usually attacks the organs of this organ.

Up to now the causes of lymphoma is unknown. There are four possible causes namely, hereditary factors, immune system disorders, viral infections or bacteria and toxins the environment (herbicides, preservatives, chemical dyes).

Lymphoma: symptoms • swollen lymph nodes on the neck, armpits or groin • weight loss • the drastically tired that continuously • coughing and shortness of breath • itching • fever without a cause • cold sweat at night today only the sufferers Often have some sort of a lump or swelling of the lymph nodes in the neck. Because there is no typical symptoms of lymphoma patients, many new usually detected when already advanced stage and this complicates treatment.

Treatment of Lymphoma: treatment of lymphoma depends on the type and the type of lymphoma. Lymphoma indolen (degrees) usually develop slowly so that they only monitored continuously while remaining alert.

If then start to cause symptoms, then radiotherapy or chemotherapy is recommended; Although this is not cure lymphomas, they can reduce symptoms, most notably Lymphadenopathy (swelling of the spleen which is usually painless).

Hodgkin's lymphoma is usually treated with radiotherapy alone, as long as it has not spread. The NHL requires systemic chemotherapy the disease, sometimes combined with radiotherapy.

Aggressive lymphoma NHL, such as fast-growing and spreading. If left without treatment, patients can die within six months. Diagnosis and treatment are done as early as possible can increase life expectancy
