Common, lymph node cancer, more commonly known as lymphoma, is the 6th cancer in France and the first cancer of adolescents and young adults, between 15 and 25 years. The diagnosis of this disease, difficult to identify, is still late.


Definition
Lymphoma includes several types of malignant cancers, the common point of which is the anarchic proliferation of lymphoid cells, the body's defense cells, but not derived from bone marrow, unlike leukemias in which the Proliferation is done from the marrow. Among the lymphomas, Hodgkin's lymphoma, or Hodgkin's disease, characterized by a particular cell type (called Reed-Sternberg cell), is classically distinguished from other types of lymphomas named non-Hodgkin lymphomas. Causes
Most of the time, no cause is found to explain the occurrence of lymphoma in an individual, but some types of viruses or bacteria are associated with a more frequent appearance of lymphoma, especially in immunocompromised patients, That is, the immune defenses are weakened.



Symptoms
In the cancer of the lymph nodes one observes above all a swelling of these. They are visible and palpable at the neck, armpits, thorax or groin, in particular. Diagnosis
Ganglion cancer is often evoked when swollen lymph nodes are found. An extension balance is then carried out to find out what the extent of the attack is and which organs are affected by the lymphoma. Treatment
The treatment of lymphoma will depend on its nature and its extension balance. It is possible, for example, to treat Hodgkin's lymphoma by external radiation therapy. We are going to irradiate the cancer cells, but the surrounding healthy cells will also be partially destroyed, hence the interest of targeting the tumor at best. Chemotherapy may also be used, sometimes in conjunction with radiation therapy. For non-Hodgkin lymphomas, treatment is usually done only by chemotherapy, and the molecules used will depend on the type of lymphoma.
